About the role
Places is a product built by Raya, a technology company focused on providing utility through discovery of and access to exciting people and places globally. By marrying great software with a membership-based community, Places aims to help discerning travelers find favorite spots through curation and trust.
As the first dedicated Data Scientist for Places, you will work in a start-up environment to shape how the app uses data for business decisions. This hands-on role combines data modeling and reporting with product analysis and experimentation, supported by a dedicated Data Engineer.
What you'll do
- Own the definition and evolution of success metrics for all user facing surfaces.
- Define and maintain business metrics, semantic layers, and data models to ensure consistency.
- Translate product requirements into scalable, reliable data assets in partnership with Data Engineering.
- Influence product direction by uncovering and translating insights into clear recommendations.
- Build out a culture of high fidelity experimentation to scale wins quickly.
- Use visualizations to convey nuance with clarity.
- Apply an AI-native mindset to automate analysis and accelerate experimentation using LLMs and agents.
