Founded in 2016, Clipboard is a remote-first team of over 1,000 people building a top Y-Combinator company and has been profitable since 2022. The company is the leader in Long-Term Care staffing and is rapidly expanding into Home Health, Hospitals, and more.
The Strategy & Ops Senior Associate role is an experienced generalist role suited for the “all-around athlete” type who wants exposure to a range of problems and opportunities. Your first “tour of duty” will be on the Billing team.
What you'll do
- Help optimize collections to maximize profitability by collecting money as fast as possible and minimizing losses, while preserving the customer experience.
- Example initiative: Build an internal predictive analytics model and corresponding underwriting process to catch bad payers early with high accuracy to inform contracting decisions and risk mitigation tactics.
- Example initiative: Research, vet, and onboard a new vendor that embeds AI agents into customer-facing collections efforts.
- Example initiative: Redesign the process for converting workplaces to new methods of payment, such as getting customers who send checks to start paying via eCheck to speed up the cash conversion process.
- Example initiative: Manage a team of Billing Account Managers.

- Insatiably curious and able to notice non-obvious clues and patterns, understand problems from first principles, and get to the root cause.
- Roll up your sleeves and go to the source by testing the feature, listening to the agent call, calling the customer, or executing the workflow.
- Bring tenacity and persistence to problem-solving in uncertain and unfamiliar situations.
- Bounce back from failure quickly and learn from mistakes.
- Based in North America, South America or Europe.
- Overlap of at least 5 hours with the PST (UTC-8) time zone.
- A reliable laptop/desktop (no Chromebooks or Linux OS).
- Minimum 20 Mbps wired internet connection.
- Wired headset for clear communication.

Here's what I DO like about CH...They have positively-trending Glassdoor reviews, several employee testimonials, unlimited PTO, and lots of jobs that hire from anywhere.
Here's what I DON'T like about CH...They are missing a huge opportunity for stronger employee marketing. Their careers page has a lengthy explanation about what they expect of prospective candidates - how to be and what to do. There's literally 13 panels that explain what they want from you...instead of talking about what they can do for their employees.
It sets the tone the wrong way right out of the gate. I would much rather see them take an employee-first mentality rather than dumping a laundry list of expectations on people who haven't even applied yet.
There's 13 paragraphs about what they expect from prospective employees... They could immensely improve their talent attraction by clearly explaining why THEY should work for YOU, a clear remote work policy, and a detailed list of perks and benefits.
