About the role
Community Phone Company YC W19 built a simple cloud phone system for businesses that don't operate a call center. Community Phone is also fixing communications for the aging in America with a phone that works out of the box, AI-powered check-in calls, and a family app that provides safety and peace of mind.
We are well into 8-figure subscription ARR, pacing to 9-figure, with 25,000+ families trusting us. We are a lean, product-driven team whose people take full ownership, are mission-driven, move quickly, and care deeply about the customer.
The Sr Growth Product Manager will build the upsell motion from scratch, with a clear revenue target and a strong data foundation. You will report to our CEO and work day-to-day with the growth team, lifecycle lead, and engineers. In year one, the PLG expansion opportunity alone is in the low millions of ARR.
What you'll do
- Own expansion revenue from our consumer subscriber base, measured in ARR.
- Own the full upsell motion: trigger identification, experiment design, in-product nudges, lifecycle sequences, pricing page, and onboarding flows.
- Build a prioritized roadmap of PLG experiments, run with shared engineering resources and a strong bias toward non-eng levers where possible.
- Own the reporting and learning loop that makes each experiment smarter than the last.
- Develop real intuition for seniors and caregivers and design upsell moments that feel like help, not pressure.
- In the first 14 days, diagnose why customers are not upgrading: pull relevant data, listen to recorded calls, talk directly to customers, and pressure-test assumptions about the expansion funnel. Have the first experiment live by day 15.
- By day 60, map and measure every sub-funnel, establish a dashboard, and develop a clear, written point of view on which sub-funnels have momentum, are dead ends, or need more signal.
- Continuously ship hypotheses into sub-funnels with momentum and move actual expansion ARR in the right direction with a model showing how to reach the year-one number.
- By day 90, accelerate experiments, sharpen prioritization, put the first significant engineering bets in market, and provide a live forecast and a backlog reflecting where the leverage is.
What they're looking for
- 4+ years of product experience with at least 3 in a growth or monetization role.
- Experience in consumer subscription, not just B2B SaaS.
- Have run PLG or lifecycle-driven upsell experiments in a consumer subscription business.
- Know what a good experiment looks like, can build a basic framework to run experiments, and can read results clearly without needing a data team to hand-hold you.
- Can point to a specific experiment you ran, what you learned, and what it moved.
- Comfortable without a dedicated engineering team; find leverage in copy, sequencing, onboarding design, and pricing structure before writing a ticket.
- When engineering is needed, prioritize hard and make the case clearly.
- Have owned a revenue metric, not just shipped features, and are energized by owning a number, not just a roadmap.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and heavily biased toward action.
- Communicate clearly and understand fine distinctions quickly in structures or philosophies.
