About the role
At Tilt, we see a side of people that traditional lenders miss. Our mobile-first products and machine learning-powered credit models look beyond credit scores, using over 250 real-time financial signals to recognize real potential. With millions of customers worldwide, we're creating a new credit system that backs the working, whatever they're working toward.
As Senior Copywriter, Brand, you'll be the creative authority behind how Tilt speaks: writing brand and campaign copy across every surface, building long-form narratives that move people, and setting the standard for great writing. You'll sit within the Creative team, part of Marketing, working closely with designers, marketers, and product partners.
What you'll do
- Own Tilt's voice: Be the primary steward of how we sound, sharpening our voice, setting a high bar for craft, and ensuring everything we write sounds clear, human, and unmistakably Tilt.
- Create brand copy that's clever without being try-hard, warm without being generic, and plain-spoken without being dull.
- Generate the big idea and develop it from the central creative platform to the headlines, scripts, and executional details that make a campaign feel whole.
- Lead long-form narrative projects across touch points, campaign narratives, and scripts that build trust, clarity, and emotional connection with our audience.
- Write direct response copy for ads, email, and performance channels that converts without sounding like it's trying to.
- Design and refine AI-assisted copy workflows, writing prompts, style guides, and frameworks that help stay on-brand while producing great work at scale.
- Work hand-in-hand with designers on campaign concepting and brand development to ensure writing and design move together.
- Shape how we develop creative standards, review work, and push the bar higher.
- Make financial language feel human through clear, emotionally intelligent writing that helps people feel seen, respected, and confident.
What they're looking for
- A genuine creative point of view and distinctive writing voice developed over the course of your career.
- Think strategically, generate strong creative platforms, and develop a central concept across channels and formats without losing what made it good.
- Experience working on brand identity or rebrand projects, capturing a company's spirit in language and holding it consistently across every touchpoint.
- Ability to write a 12-word tagline and a 1,200-word brand story with equal confidence, knowing when each is right.
- Understand how to write for direct response channels, including the rhythms, clarity requirements, and accountability to outcomes, without sacrificing voice.
- Ability to document what makes writing work and build frameworks that help others write better, including AI-assisted tools.
- Thrive in creative feedback loops, take critique as fuel, and be as invested in the team's work as your own.
- Ability to walk a room through a creative rationale and make people feel the rightness of a choice, not just understand it.
- Agency and/or in-house experience navigating real-world timelines, stakeholders, and constraints without compromising on quality.
