About the role
At Yodo1, we don’t just grow games—we help turn them into household names. With billions of downloads across our portfolio, we’ve spent more than a decade shaping the growth of iconic titles.
Yodo1 Games is raising the bar: transforming great titles into lasting franchises that define gaming for generations.
Yodo1 is looking for a Senior Game Designer to join Transformers: Earth Wars, a 10M+ downloads build and battle mobile game.
What you'll do
- Design and implement new game content and features, including characters, equipment, buildings, and game modes.
- Architect and implement major systems and features, such as new progression mechanics, event frameworks, or combat updates, and new game characters from high-level concept to final data implementation.
- Analyze and refine the game’s core economy, game loops and combat meta. Ensure that new content creates strategic depth and healthy metagame shifts through rigorous data analysis and forecasting.
- Create high-level design documentation that communicates the why behind features. Present and defend your designs to stakeholders, using player data and industry best practices to influence the product roadmap.
- Provide constructive, peer-to-peer feedback on the designs of other team members. Help elevate the team's output by sharing advanced knowledge of Unity tools, balance methodologies, and live game optimization.
- Collaborate with production to define scoping and technical requirements. Work closely with art and engineering to optimize the content pipeline, ensuring a sustainable monthly release cadence without sacrificing quality.
What they're looking for
- Game/content design experience, ideally on live hero/character driven mobile/F2P titles.
- Strong understanding of game systems, balance, and player motivation in free-to-play games.
- Experience using Unity and internal content tools.
- An analytical mindset, able to use data and feedback to refine designs.
- Creative spark, hungry to try new things, interpret data, player feedback, and in-game outcomes to refine ideas and iterate on content.
- Excellent communication and collaboration within cross-functional and globally distributed teams.
- A deep passion for mobile games.
- Focused on impact: understand the 80/20 rule and focus on activities that matter.
- Performance-driven and growth-oriented, unafraid to try, fail, and learn by experimenting with new approaches and testing ideas.
- Cooperative: help others succeed; give and receive feedback well.
- Relentlessly curious: ask questions.
- Humble: ask for help; be quick to admit and learn from mistakes.
Nice to have
- A deep passion for the Transformers franchise with extensive lore knowledge that informs authentic content creation.
- Experience designing for live ops calendars (events, sales, battle passes) and understanding how to engage players between major releases.
- Experience briefing and reviewing work from external art or development outsourcing partners.

The hot takeJeff's read on Yodo1
I just added Yodo1 to the Anywhere Atlas a couple months ago, and how I had missed them before is a travesty. Their entire careers page is about employees, not the company. Even better, they talk ad nauseam about working remotely (which is always good for me).
"We love games, we play games, we grow games—from anywhere in the world. Will you add the next country to our map?"
And this: "We don't care about titles, your location, or the hours you work—only your impact on helping developers grow their games." I could NOT word that any better myself, after seeing thousands of careers pages. Oh, and can I get an AMEN for a clear remote work policy?
Work From Anywhere We trust you to decide where and when you work—no matter where in the world.
And of course I love their stance on remote work: "Travel when and where you like, get paid in your currency of choice, and enjoy flexible hours and unlimited paid time off."
